Directions From Calais
There are obviously many meandering routes to take through France. However the quickest is to take the Motorway from Calais to Paris (follow very obvious blue signs). Its about 2.5 hours to Paris, there are a number of alternative routes round Paris. We would take the Peripherique following signs to Bordeaux. The Peripherique can be very slow at rush hour but otherwise is busy but moves. Take the Peripherique around to the South of Paris until you pick up signs for the A10 and Orly airport. Take the exit from the Peripherique signed Orly airport. Then follow the signs to Orleans and the A10 motorway. You are now on the Motorway (A10, A71 then A20) that goes all the way to Toulouse via Orleans, Chateauroux, Limoges and Cahors. Passing thru Toulouse follow signs for A64/ E80 to Tarbes, Lourdes, Saint Sebastian. On A64/E80 take the Exit 28 Capens, Marquefavre, Saint Sulpice.
Directions From Toulouse Airport (Blagnac)
The journey from the airport to Chateau de Soules takes 45 minutes. Leave the airport onto the D902. Following signs to Foix-Tarbes on A624, then the A620 and onto the A64 South through he peage (€1.70) and follow the A64 to exit 28.
From Motorway exit (exit 28)
At exit 28 pass over the motorway towards Capens and head over the hills to Saint Sulpice sur Leze. At the D4 / Rue de la Republique turn right and continue along D919 south to Lezat sur Leze.

St Ybars is a very small hill top village and we overlook it from the other side of the valley. The nearest main town is Lezat sur Leze, which is 2kms away. The Chateau is directly south of Lezat on the D919, Rue de Pyrenees, of which you turn right up a tree-lined track to the gates of the Chateau. There is a sign “Soules” at the beginning of the drive.
